Hairraiser is a crowdfunding platform: campaigners raise money from friends, family, and supporters to help cover hair-restoration-related expenses. Here's how payments and refunds work.
Verification before payouts
Campaigners complete required verification before any payouts are released, so funds go to the intended person, not a stranger.
Not a medical provider
Hairraiser is a funding platform, not a clinic. We don't provide treatment, endorse specific clinics, or guarantee outcomes. Treatment decisions are between you and your chosen provider.
Refunds
If a campaign is withdrawn or can't receive a contribution, eligible payments are refunded according to our refund policy. Campaigners are verified before payouts, and supporters are notified of any changes to a campaign they've given to.
Terms of service
Who can campaign
You must be 18+, verify your identity, and tie your goal to a real quote from a licensed clinic or provider. One active campaign per person.
What campaigns can fund
Hair restoration procedures, consultations, travel to treatment, lodging, and aftercare. Nothing else.
Fees
Hairraiser takes 5% of funds raised, plus standard payment processing (~2.9% + $0.30 per donation). No fee to donate, no subscription, no hidden line items.
Honest storytelling
Your story must be yours and true. Fabricated stories, stolen photos, or misrepresented facts get the campaign removed and donations returned to supporters under the refund policy.
Updates are part of the deal
Campaigners agree to post updates at least monthly while active, and to keep their cover story honest. Supporters gave you money; they get the journey.
Refunds and chargebacks
Eligible payments are refunded according to our refund policy. Fraudulent or abusive disputes may result in campaign suspension or account closure.
Medical disclaimer
Hairraiser is a funding platform, not a medical provider. We don't endorse clinics, guarantee outcomes, or give medical advice. Treatment decisions are between you and your doctor.
Tax status
Contributions are personal gifts between you and a campaigner, not charitable donations, and are not tax-deductible.
Your data
We store what's needed to run campaigns and payments — never sold, never shared with clinics without your consent. You can request deletion of your account and personal data, subject to legal, regulatory, fraud-prevention, and record-retention requirements.
Analytics notice
If you choose to allow analytics, Hairraiser uses Google Analytics to understand aggregate use of the site. We send generalized page routes and anonymous funnel counts only. We do not send campaign names, handles, stories, locations, photos, account identifiers, payment details, or form content. You can decline analytics in the preference prompt; declining does not affect use of the site.
